About
Crafted with British provenance.
A one-man workshop, in Lincolnshire, working slowly and only in remarkable British hardwoods.

Meet John Bruce
The maker's story.
I founded Tables by Bruce because I believe extraordinary British timber deserves a second life.
Every table is handcrafted by me in Lincolnshire using carefully selected British hardwoods chosen not only for their beauty but also for the stories they carry.
Rather than manufacturing furniture, I create heirloom pieces intended to become part of your family's history. I take on a small number of commissions each year — never more than my hands can attend to in full.
The work is slow by design. Timber is left to settle. Joinery is cut by hand. Finishes are applied in many thin coats and rubbed back between each. The result is furniture that feels considered because it was.
